WiFiFee

"The main reason WiFiFee has decided to standardize on OpenDNS is that it's simply a fast, reliable DNS product. We are always seeking ways to make our Wireless Internet faster and more reliable and surprisingly one of the biggest support issues we encountered through the many different ISPs we were using had to do with DNS. We tried OpenDNS at a few locations with remarkable success and now we've moved all our locations over. "
Brian Epstein, CEO of WiFiFee

Paying Too Much for Web Content Filtering, and Unreliable DNS

WiFiFee, a New York-based wireless hotspot provider, gives its customers a complete suite of professional wireless Internet solutions, from network design to implementation to customer support. The company provides wireless Internet access to thousands of customers at hundreds of locations like hotels, MDU and MTUs, RV Parks and Marinas, airports, shopping malls, and more. On top of a basic Internet connection, one of WiFiFee's main selling points is helping its customers increase their revenues by providing access to amenities through the Internet. This goal cannot be acheived unless the Internet connection being provided is both safe and reliable. As Internet security threats become more sophisticated, and the cost of Web content filtering rises in its wake, WiFiFee began looking past its pricey BlueCoat Web filter. At the same time the company began exploring alternatives to the DNS service it received from its ISP.

A Free Solution That Solves Both Problems

WiFiFee first found OpenDNS because of its free Web content filtering services and the world-class phishing protection it offered. After noticing OpenDNS's claims of a faster, more reliable DNS service, the company decided to test it out on a small number of machines. The testing period was conducted with "remarkable success" and WiFiFee decided to roll out OpenDNS on all of the networks it operates. Immediately thousands of users connecting to the Internet through WiFiFee-controlled networks were protected from all known phishing sites and enjoyed and faster and more reliable Internet experience. Further, WiFiFee was able to pass on the value it reaps from OpenDNS to all of its customers with no increased cost to anyone.
