Using OpenDNS Web content filtering is the only way to get the benefit of the richest domain database available, featuring more than 50 categories and millions of domains. This allows you to easily control which sites can be accessed on your network. The easy-to-use administration console allows you to set up and manage content filtering policies on a per-user, per-site or per-network basis in just minutes, giving you greater control when applying and changing access policies to Internet usage.
Unlike dated appliance-based approaches, OpenDNS works intelligently and efficiently through your Internet connection's DNS service, recognizing domains you've chosen to block and resolving your custom block page instead of the requested domain in those instances.
Whitelist and Blacklist
OpenDNS also provides whitelist and blacklist features to enable you to create exception cases ("always allow" and "always block") to complement category-based filtering. The Whitelist-Only feature is best used for instances where there is a desire to restrict Internet access to a few, pre-selected Web sites Internet users can visit. This allows for a "locked-down" and controlled environment.
Block Page Bypass
Block Page Bypass works by empowering you to assign individuals permission that allows them to bypass blocks and access designated Web sites.
