How to configure OpenDNS with a Windows 2000 Dial-up Connection

Generally, you want to configure your Dial-up TCP/IP DNS server addresses to point to the OpenDNS servers, 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

On Windows 2000:

  1. Click on Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel/Network and Dial-up Connections/Dial-up Connection.  
  2. Click on the Properties button from the Dial-up Connection window.  
  3. Select Networking tab.  Find Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) in the list and click on the Properties button.  
  4. Select the radio button next to "Use the following DNS server addresses." Input 208.67.222.222 for the Preferred DNS server and 208.67.220.220 for Alternate DNS server.
  5. Click OK.
