Troubleshooting: I don't see any stats for my network
If you have a dynamic IP assigned to you by your ISP, please make sure your network IP is current and dynamic IP updating is enabled for your network in your OpenDNS account. Please refer to our knowledgebase for more in-depth instructions on dynamic IP updating.
Please confirm that you are still using OpenDNS on any/all networks in question.
More possible reasons why your stats may not be working, plus some helpful diagnostic tests to run before sending in your support ticket:
In most networks, DNS queries (UDP) and web requests go out on the same public IP address. In some networks, the requests go out via different routes and IP addresses.
When this happens, network based features such as adult site blocking and statistics will not work if the network is using the HTTP IP address.
Here's how to determine which IP address is making the DNS requests to OpenDNS. From your machines terminal/command line, enter the following commands:
nslookup myip.opendns.com. (When doing an nslookup with Windows, make sure to include the trailing dot!)
or
dig myip.opendns.com
or
host myip.opendns.com
If you are using OpenDNS, the response will include the IP address our servers "see" when you make the request. Compare that to your network IP address in the OpenDNS dashboard.
If you are not using OpenDNS, the response will indicate that!
