How to set up an A record so your domain resolves with and without a www prefix
If you manage a domain -- such as example.com -- it's important to make sure that both of the following resolve:
You should set up an A record for both of these two examples, as they are different for DNS services. If you set up only one or the other, as sometimes happens, then some of your visitors may not be able to view your site. OpenDNS Guide appears instead of your domain when your domain is not properly configured. Since we want all OpenDNS customers to get where they want to go, we strongly encourage setting up A records for both instances of your domain. They will likely point to the same IP addresses, but that one extra step when you manage your domain (whether with your registrar or DNS host) means more people get to your site.
