Setting Plan Details for an Organization (Name and Contacts)

Organization plan information is configurable by OpenDNS Administrators and users of an organization who have been granted the Super User privilege. The plan information of an organization consists of the organization name, account type, billing and payment details, and contact information.

There are 3 different contact types that an OpenDNS Administrator can set for an organization. The Billing and Service Update contacts receive messages from OpenDNS when the subject is related to those topics, respectively.

The third contact, the Support contact, receives messages from OpenDNS network end-users whenever a "Contact your Network Administrator" form is completed and emailed. This allows communication related to OpenDNS features such as Web content filtering or security block pages to occur between the OpenDNS Administrator and network end-users.

Note: The "Contact your Network Administrator" is an option that is configured on a per network basis under the Customization section of Settings for a network. For more information, please read the section Set User Email Feedback in the topic Setting Your Logo, Message and the User Feedback Email.

The specific messages sent to each contact type are defined in the following table.

Organization Contact Type Description
Billing Only receives OpenDNS contract renewal notices and invoices sent from OpenDNS.
Service Update Only receives OpenDNS service planned-maintenance and related communications sent from OpenDNS.
Support Receives both service messages from OpenDNS and, more importantly, messages from network end-users when they have questions related to receiving an OpenDNS block page.

To set or adjust plan details for an organization, log in to the Dashboard and go to the Settings tab. In the Settings for: box, select the Organization Name you wish to modify. The Plan Info page appears by default. Edit the Organization Name and Contacts as appropriate and Save… your new settings.
